What is Form 46?

Form 46 is an application to obtain an authorisation for a tourist or national permit. Once the Regional Transport Office (RTO) receives this application, it reviews it and issues an authorisation in Form 47. Without this authorisation, the vehicle cannot legally cross state borders, even if it has a permit. Vehicle operators need to submit Form 46 to the jurisdictional RTO, along with the prescribed fee. Moreover, national permits are not granted to goods carriages older than 12 years, or older than 15 years for multiaxle goods carriages.
