      Driving Without Insurance Fine in Gujarat

      As per the Indian Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, (revised 2019) it is compulsory for every vehicle ower in Gujarat to own a valid third party insurance policy. Failing to do so will attract heavy traffic fines, which are as follows:

      Fine for driving without insurance

      Rs. 2,000 for first offence

      Rs. 4,000 for subsequent offence

      Documents Required for Permanent Registration in Gujarat RTO

      A temporary RC is valid for one month only after which you are required to get your vehicle registered permanently. Here are the documents that you need to register your vehicle permanently in Gujarat RTO:

      How to Get a Permanent Registration Certificate in Gujarat?

      Follow these steps to get a permanent registration certificate from Gujarat RTO:

      Fill in form 20 and submit it to the concerned authority

      Submit all the necessary documents along with proof of payment of tax

      If all papers are found correct, a registration number will be allocated

      The vehicle owner will be informed about the registration number via SMS or email.

      The motor vehicle will be inspected by the concerned authority after which a registration number will be allocated.

      How to Renew Registration Certificate in Gujarat RTO?

      A vehicle’s permanent RC should be renewed within 60 days of its expiry date. It is valid for a period of 15 years after which it should be renewed. Here is how you can renew your RC in Gujarat RTO:

      Fill in Form 25 and submit it to the Gujarat RTO

      No, you cannot drive without a valid insurance policy in Gujarat. As per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, it is mandatory for every vehicle owner to have an insurance policy to drive legally on the roads of India.

      You can get the details of your vehicle such as its RC details and insurance details from the Gujarat transport website or the Parivahan portal.
