      Functions of Bangalore RTO

      Under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the Bangalore RTO performs the following functions:

      Issues and renews registration certificates of different types of vehicles including private vehicles, commercial vehicles, etc.

      Issues driving licence, international driving licence, conductor licence, and performs other licence related services

      Collects road tax for the government

      Inspects vehicles at check posts

      Issues fitness certificate, PUC certificate after proper testings

      Issuing No Objection Certificates for vehicles

      Conducts hypothecation endorsement and termination of vehicles in the RC

      Issues permits like interstate permits, goods carriage permits, etc.

      How to Register a Vehicle in Bangalore RTO?

      A vehicle owner is required to register his/her newly purchased vehicle under the state RTO. Follow the steps mentioned below to register a vehicle in Bangalore RTO:

      Step 1: Visit the Bangalore RTO office with your vehicle

      Step 2: Take the vehicle registration form 20 and fill it out. Make sure to also keep the required documents with you.

      Step 3: Submit the form and all the documents. Also submit the required RTO fees and taxes if any.

      Step 4: The RTO Bangalore will now inspect your vehicle and documents

      Step 5: Once the verification is successful, the RTO will approve the vehicle registration

      Step 6: The smart card RC will then be sent to your registered mail address.
