      Documents Required for Permanent Registration in Himachal Pradesh RTO

      Since the validity of a temporary registration certificate is 1 month, it is mandatory to get a permanent RC before the expiration of the temporary RC. For a permanent RC, a vehicle owner can apply in the same RTO with the following documents:

      Application Form 20

      Sales certificate in Form 21

      Proof of residence

      Valid insurance certificate

      Temporary registration certificate

      Appropriate fee as per Rule 81

      Form 22 (road-worthiness certificate)

      Permit proceedings if any in case of transport vehicle

      How to Get a Permanent Registration Certificate in Himachal Pradesh?

      Here is how you can get a permanent registration certificate in Himachal Pradesh:

      Confirm the type of registration number you want for your vehicle

      Submit all the necessary documents and forms to the registering authority

      Confirm the usage of a smart card/HSRP card

      Pay the required fees and tax as per Central Motor Vehicle Rule 81

      How to Renew Registration Certificate in Himachal Pradesh RTO?

      A vehicle owner has to apply for a renewal registration certificate for his/her vehicle after 15 years of its permanent registration. Application of renewal shall be made in not more than 60 days before the expiration of permanent RC. Here is the procedure for the same:
