      Driving Without Insurance Fine in Jammu and Kashmir

      The Motor Laws of India makes it compulsory for every vehicle owner in Jammu and Kashmir to have a valid motor insurance policy while driving in J&K. If caught by the traffic police without an insurance policy, it will lead to heavy fines along with imprisonment.

      Documents Required for Permanent Registration in Jammu and Kashmir RTO

      Permanent registration is a mandatory requirement for every vehicle purchased to be driven in Jammu and Kashmir. Thus, if you have purchased a vehicle in J&K, make sure to apply for permanent registration within 7 days of taking delivery of the vehicle. Here are the documents you will need for the same:

      A vehicle’s registration certificate is valid for 15 years after which a vehicle owner has to get it renewed before the expiry of its tenure.       A vehicle’s ownership in J&K can be transferred in three major scenarios. These include normal sale, the sale of vehicle in a public auction or transfer due to the death of the owner.
