Any motor vehicle purchased in Uttarakhand and driven in the state needs to be mandatorily registered under the UK RTO. A permanent RC can be availed from the concerned RTO within 7 days of the purchase of a vehicle. Here are the documents required for the same:

Follow the steps mentioned below to obtain a permanent RC in Uttarakhand:
Visit the nearest Uttarakhand RTO with all the documents
Submit the application forms to the registering authority of Uttarakhand

The Motor Vehicle Laws in India have also introduced the feature of payment of road tax Uttrakhand online from the Parivahan Sewa website or from the state transport website of the respective state. Follow the steps to pay Uttrakhand road tax online:

From the right side, click on “E-Services for Public” option
From the list of services, click on “Online Tax for Vehicle Registered in Uttarakhand”
On the next page, enter your RTO and vehicle registration number

Input the last 5 digits of the chassis number and registration number

Paying road tax in Uttarakhand is mandatory. Failing to do so will result in a heavy penalty. The penalty for non-payment of road tax in Uttarakhand is Rs. 500 in addition to the defalt amount.
If the default time continues, the fine may increase to Rs. 1,000 per the State Government guidelines.
If a vehicle in Uttarakhand has been purchased on loan from a bank, it is necessary to get such hypothecation endorsed in the vehicle's RC from the nearest RTO.

The charges to get vehicle hypothecation endorsed or terminated in Uttarakhand are as follows:
Fees for Endorsement of Hypothecation:
For a wheeler, Rs. 500 and a service charge of Rs. 25
For all other vehicles, the fare is Rs. 800 and the service charge of Rs. 25
For termination of hypothecation, the service charge would be Rs. 25 for all types of vehicles.
