The validity of a temporary registration certificate is one month within which it has to be made permanent. Thus, make sure to obtain a permanent RC from the concerned RTO before the expiry of the temporary RC. Following are the documents you will need for the same in Kerala:

Here is how to get a permanent registration certificate in Kerala RTO:
Visit the concerned Kerala RTO from where you got your temporary RC
Submit the respective forms to the concerned authority
Submit the rest of the documents required by the RTO
Confirm smart card usage requirements
