    What Does Kadmat RTO Do?

    As per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the Kadmat RTO has to perform the following functions:

    • Issue and renew registration certificates of different types of vehicles, such as private vehicles, commercial vehicles, etc.
    • Issue driving licence, international driving licence, conductor licence, and perform other licence related services
    • Collects road tax for the government
    • Inspects vehicles at check posts
    • Issue fitness certificate, PUC certificate after proper testing
    • Issuing No Objection Certificates for vehicles
    • Conducts hypothecation endorsement and termination of vehicles in the RC

    How to Register a Vehicle in Kadmat RTO?

    You must register a newly purchased vehicle under the state RTO. Follow the steps mentioned below to register a vehicle in Kadmat RTO:

    1. Step 1: Visit the Kadmat RTO office with your vehicle
    2. Step 2: Take the vehicle registration form 20 and fill it out. Make sure to also keep the required documents with you.
    3. Step 3: Submit the form and all the documents. Also submit the required ‘state’ road tax and RTO fees.
    4. Step 4: The RTO Kadmat will now inspect your vehicle and documents
    5. Step 5: Once the verification is successful, the RTO will approve the vehicle registration
    6. Step 6: The smart card RC will then be sent to your registered mail address.

    • Application for registration in Form 20
    • Form 21 issued by dealer or manufacturer
    • Road Worthiness Certificate (Form 22).

    How to Transfer Ownership at RTO Kadmat?

    When you buy a used vehicle, the ownership must be transferred to your name within 30 days of purchase. The transfer is done at the Kadmat RTO office where the vehicle was initially registered.

    1. Step 1: Collect Form 29 (Notice of Transfer) and Form 30 (Report of Transfer) offline or download them from the Parivahan portal.
    2. Step 2: Duly fill and sign the forms and collect all the required documents.
    3. Step 3: Submit the form along with all required documents at the concerned RTO.
    4. Step 4: Pay the fees and once approved, the RC with the new owner's name will be dispatched to your registered address within 30 days.
